For the European project Transition To 8, we are looking for a sociodramatist, a psychologist or anthropologist and a video annotation specialist.
The collected data are analysed by computer and social scientists; then they are integrated into digital moodboards in the form of: raw data, visual material, text, graphs, sonifications and visualisations. Those digital moodboards will be given to artists to integrate data into creating original artworks. More information on the project: www.youtube.com/watch?v=X2MGDh03wdM
Working as part of an interdisciplinary and international team, these different profiles will be responsible for leading two sociodrama sessions on the subject of air pollution, and for collecting, processing and analysing the participants’ data. The aim is to prepare a comprehensive dataset that can be shared with the artists.
The role of the sociodramist
As a Sociodramatis, you will be responsible for the session design and facilitation, ensure active engagement of all participants during the sessions, create a safe environment for meaningful interactions and contribute to the qualitative observations of the participants’ behaviour during the session.

The role of the psychologist or anthropologist
As a Psychologist or Anthropologist with Expertise in Qualitative Research, your role will involve qualitative observation, noting participants’ behaviors, reactions, and attributes during the sessions. Following the sessions, you will collaborate closely over the next four months with a team of sociodramatists, and data analysis and synchronization specialists to analyze and curate this data.

The role of the video annotation specialist
As a Video Annotation Specialist with experience in scripting using MATLAB, you will collaborate closely over the next four months with a team of social scientists, sociodramatists, and data analysis and synchronization specialists to analyze and curate this data.

Timeframe
- 1 month preparation before the sociodrama sessions (June)
- 4 months of analysis and curation of data (3 month analysis, 1 month curation)
Transition To 8 is implemented by the organisations MENTOR, Electroni[k], MoTA and TAI. The project is co-funded by the European Union, and builds upon a specific methodology developed by MENTOR, the University of Athens Department of Psychology and Athena Research Centre during the research project “Transition to 8: Bridging social issues, tech and contemporary art”, that was implemented in Eleusis from 2020 until June 2023 within the framework of the European Fund for Regional Development, under the Operational Programme “Competitiveness, Entrepreneurship and Innovation 2014-2020”.
